Exchange Traded Funds Magazine (ETFM) - Deutsche Bank launches sterling-hedged ETCs by Joanne Young

A technical look on the happenings at Deutsche Bank written by Joanne Young. The information given is of the highest calibre but only accessable to those closest to the story. The insight into the business' running along side it is thorough even if the article barely covers a quarter of the page. The writing skills of Joanna Young are to be utilised and have been in this piece.

The thing that draws to this article is the bold title and brilliant writing technique.

Exchange Traded Funds Magazine (ETFM) - Survival of the fittest by Emma Dunkley

Emma Dunkley's introduction to this month's ETFM gives an insight which develops and concludes itself with less that a full page. It's detail and information is second to none. The in-depth review of ETPs could be stretched out to an entire issue but instead is written about in a small paragraph. Emma's efforts have not only given information to the reader, but also saved them time and money. Any readers of ETFM should be ashamed if they only gave this piece a quick glance. It is a brilliantly written article and if unread until now, readers should look through it in-depth atleast once or twice.

The paragraph has no particular magnets however, as the first article in the magazine, it should never be overlooked.

Kerrang! - Return of the Kings

The article in question offers a very detailed and interesting overview of the recent Slipknot performance at the Sonisphere festival in Athens.

The article first comes to your attention as it is the main feature of this issue of the magazine and therefore the main focus of the front cover. You are then drawn in as you turn one of the pages to find find a double page display to open the article, complete with a dramatic image of the band as well as a very eye catching title printed over jets of flame.

The article goes into a lot of depth explaining the in's and out's of the performance and the build up to it. The writer also seems to be genuinley saddened by the death of the bands (now former) bass player Paul Gray and this show's in the article giving it a more human feel.

Management Today - Facebook's small world by James Taylor

The article about facebook is a phenomenal piece from James Taylor whom shows his knack for writing throughout the multi-page story. It details some outstanding facts about the international business but still manages to keep on topic about marketing and business. The article goes on to show the potential of faceboook and the advertisement to the 600 million current members.

The attraction to this article is the 4 pages dedicated to it and the shocking first page of dynamic colour. However, as soon as you start reading the article, the other magnetive factors become irrelevant and you just read because it's an amazingly written piece from James Taylor.

Management today - There's nothing to fear but fear itself by Caroline Plumb

Caroline uses a chatty but not ignorant tone throughout the article including such terms as "don't get me wrong". She makes her point about What's Stopping You? clear and even manages to support it and the view on self help books given is a refreshing change.

The article's "cliched" title drove me to it and the afformentioned book's cover lying next to the article/ It's a must read for anyone with an interest with self help books.

Grazia - Is this the most dangerous woman in America?

The article is a general overview of the policies and history of the new Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.

I found it to be witty and funny whilst still keeping a professional tone and staying informative and I belive that many good points are made about the right wing politician that raise serious questions about her credentials. In the article, the writer express's his or her opinion throughout quite subtly, so the piece stays fairly un-biased and fairly neutral, so it will still appeal to many right wing supporting people as well as the more obvious liberal readers.

I also found it surprising to find a political story in 'Grazia' as I belived it to be a mainly fashion and gossip based magazine, but I now see it is much more varied and diverse and I belive that it could potentially attract a large selection of readers with differant interest's.

Management Today - Self starters top the list by Matthew Gwyther

In this article, Matthew uses gentle humour and hidden messages to show the fforts put in by self starters. The article gives plenty of facts alongside his own opinion. It's a real effort to get as many people to read it as possible, and he has succeeded.

What drew me to this article was the quote, enlarged at the bottom of the page: "Goldsmith's stories are priceless and offer important lessons for any entrpreneur." which intrigues almost every reader of management today.
